Description of Practice
Full-time arbitrator and mediator. Primary focus is in labor and employment matters; however, I have also assisted parties in resolving disputes involving commercial and real estate disputes.
Full-time arbitrator and mediator since 1986. Public (neutral) member of the Oregon Employment Relations Board, 2003-2004. Former Counsel, Senior Counsel, and Field Attorney for the National Labor Relations Board.

Labor Arbitration: $2,400 per day for hearing, analysis of evidence and preparation of Opinion and Award. All other time spent on pre- and post-hearing matters billed at an hourly rate of $500. If the parties elect to pursue either a mediation, med-arb, or arb-med process on the day of hearing, fees are $500 per hour for any portion of the day spent in mediation; full per diem fee applies to the remainder of the day. Mediation, Employment or Interest Arbitration, Neutral Evaluation: $500 per hour. Travel Expenses: Billed at actual cost for transportation, food, lodging, and incidental expenses. Travel Time: Per diem charge for arbitration, only if extensive travel time (more than 4 hours) is required from nearest office. For all other services, $300 per hour from nearest office if one-way travel time exceeds two hours. Cancellation fees: Per diem for each day reserved if matter is removed from calendar 28 or fewer days before the first day reserved.
